What a box goalie needs from a shaft

A close defender wants a pole that survives being hit. A goalie wants a pole that doesn't move when a ball hits it, and that doesn't cost anything to hold up for sixty minutes. Those pull in different directions, which is why weight is the first thing to decide here — not grip, not colour.

Choosing by weight

Sc-Ti 7X 60" — 385 grams. The lightest 60-inch shaft we make, and it's metal, not carbon. Scandium-titanium alloy gets you under the weight of every carbon pole on this page. If you're holding a stick up all game, start here.

Darkhorse-375 — 375 grams. Carbon composite, 3D raised checkered grip. Our most popular defensive pole and the middle of the range.

Darkhorse-425 — 425 grams. Heavier and stiffer. Choose it if you want the stick to feel planted rather than quick.

Carbon or metal
