Collection: Defense Lacrosse Heads

Heads for close defense, LSM and short-stick defensive midfield. A defensive head has a different job from an offensive one: it has to survive checks, win ground balls off a scrum, and clear the ball the length of the field without losing accuracy.

What we build for defense

RC1 — our all-purpose head, and the one we point defenders at. It plays every field position except faceoff and goalie, which means it handles close D, LSM and short-stick D equally. $34.99 unstrung, $44.99 strung with performance mesh.

RC1 N2O — the same head in clear. $54.99 unstrung, $64.99 strung.

The honest version

We don't currently build a defense-specific head. The RC1 is a genuine all-rounder rather than a compromise, and plenty of defenders play it — but if you want a head with a defensive-specific stiffness profile, we're not there yet. We'd rather tell you that than sell you a story.

Pair it with a pole

A defensive head needs a 60-inch shaft. See LSM & Defense Shafts — the Darkhorse-425 if you've snapped a pole before, the Sc-Ti 7X 60" if you want the lightest we make.
