A ball stop that stays put
Most ball stops are held on with adhesive, and they peel and fall off over time. The Darkhorse ships with a mechanically secured ball stop: an open design with locking tabs that hold it in place.
20 numbered sidewall holes
When a stringing guide says anchor at hole 7, you find hole 7 instead of counting from the throat. Set a pocket you like, and you can repeat it exactly the next time you string.
Locking bolt ready
The Darkhorse accepts StringKing's rectangle, diamond or square locking bolt, which locks the head to the shaft and stops head rattle. Not the square short, which is made for StringKing's faceoff heads.
The bolt is sold separately, about $2 from StringKing or most lacrosse retailers. To install, remove the sticker medallion and drill a small hole through the front of your shaft. Most shafts, including ours, need that hole drilled.

Questions
Should I get the Darkhorse or the RC1?
If you want a head built specifically for offense, the Darkhorse: lighter, with a tighter face shape and a deeper offset. If you want the most versatile option, the RC1: a wider face shape and a slightly heavier build, preferred by attackmen, middies, defensemen and LSMs alike, and beginner friendly. Still deciding? Is it legal for high school and college?
Yes. The Darkhorse is NCAA and NFHS legal.
Will it fit my shaft?
Yes. The universal throat fits standard 1-inch diameter shafts.
What is Shaft Sight?
A cutout on the side of the throat that lets you see the shaft is pushed all the way in. On heads with a solid throat, it's easy to leave the head not fully seated without knowing, which can lead to premature breaks in the throat. With Shaft Sight, you can check before you tighten the screw.
Which locking bolt do I need?
StringKing's rectangle, diamond or square bolt. Not the square short. You'll need to drill a small hole in the front of your shaft.
Can I dye it?
Yes. It comes white and dyeing does not void the Lifetime-ish Warranty.
